SUMMARY:Summer Trail Crew 2025: Kelley Park
DESCRIPTION:Summer Trail Crew 2025 kicks off on July 12 at Kelley Park! Join our team of volunteers to cut back the brush on the John Romano Nature Trail. \nThis is a lovely trail along the creek that goes about a quarter mile from the back of the meadow to the railroad trestle downstream. \nWe will meet at the cul-de-sac at the end of East Grove Street (drive slowly). \nWear sneakers or boots\, bring work  gloves\, bug repellant\, and water. \nBring clippers or loppers\, if you have them. We will bring extra if we can! \nRain Date for this event is Sunday\, July 13 at 1oam. \nGetting together with friends for a casual work party in the woods is a great way to kick off the weekend. Many hands make light work\, so the more people show up\, the better the camaraderie and the quicker we get the work done. \nSave the Date for our Summer Trail Crew 2025! FoK has removed over 1000 tires in the past and we are ready to grab some more! \nWhat to bring: \n\nCanoes and kayaks would be a huge help! DESCRIPTION:Join us at Axe Factory Preserve this Sunday\, April 28th at 9AM. We will be planting willow\, poplar\, oak\, dogwoods\, and winterberry – all species chosen because they support wildlife and thrive in wet soils along the creek-side habitat. \nYou don’t need to be a tree planting expert to participate.
