Fall Clean Up Recap

Axe Factory Preserve had a facelift in the last year. With past projects to improve parking access and drainage at the top of the hill, to a beautiful split rail fence bordering factory remains, to bridges and wood planks that allow better access to trails, the Axe Factory Preserve has never looked better. Our Annual Fall Clean-up was mostly spent at AFP, moving large objects and debris that have collected over the years. Many buckets of broken glass and other various objects were carried up the hill with the help of volunteers and our local Boy Scouts. Fallen trees and branches have been removed to gain better access to a trail that we are continuously working on. The changes to AFP have been exciting to witness and we are so happy to have this hidden gem right in the Village of Ballston Spa.

We also made it to our other sites, parks and trails along the Kayaderosseras to pick up debris, appliances and garbage that was gathered this fall. We filled a truck, cars and a dumpster in just a few hours of hard work. We cannot thank our volunteers enough (but the food after the clean-up day did help!).

Hope you head out to see the beauty at Axe Factory Preserve before the first snowfall! Help us continue our progress by bringing a bucket and gloves to pick up some of the broken glass along your walk.
