Join Friends of the Kayaderosseras for our annual trout stocking event at Kelley Park in Ballston Spa. This beloved spring tradition is our most popular event of the year, and community members of all ages gather at two locations to help release brook trout into the Kayaderosseras Creek.

The event will be held on Saturday, April 4, and offers a joyful way to welcome spring, connect with neighbors, and support local ecology. A second Trout Stocking will also be held earlier that day at Axe Factory Preserve—visit our event page for details and timing.

Bring your rain gear, sturdy footwear, and a bucket to transport a trout to the water. We will have extra buckets on hand for participant use.

This free, family‑friendly event is supported by Friends of the Kayaderosseras memberships and donations, with opportunities to join or renew memberships through our website and on the day of the event. Consider joining us to make an impact year-round!
